I have myself on more than one occasion caused Inspector Stanton to be informed of my high appreciation of his great zeal and abilities, and I am able to endorse all that the Captain Superintendent of Police states with regard to his services. I also consider that an allowance of $144 a year should be granted to Inspector Stanton for conveyance, as it is constantly necessary for him to engage public chairs or jinrickshas in order to reach the scene of a crime with the least possible delay.
